Dinner questions: What are we eating? Is it even in the house? Who's eating, and who won't eat that? How long is this going to take? Do I have the energy to cook it? Is there a clean pan?

You're not bad at food. By dinner, we've already spent the day deciding.

By dinner, most of us have already answered messages, switched between tasks, remembered the forms and appointments and managed everyone else's needs. Then dinner asks six more questions, at the exact time of day we have the least fuel to answer them.

By late afternoon, a lot of us haven't eaten enough since breakfast, so blood glucose is lower, and the prefrontal cortex, the part of the brain that plans and sequences and gets us started, has less of the steady glucose it depends on. What we notice is that irritability goes up, and so does the pull toward whatever is fastest.

So if dinner turns into takeout or cereal or nothing most nights, it isn't a character flaw. The way most of us feed ourselves asks for the most decisions at the point in the day when we have the fewest left.

Who's behind this

I'm Amy Jones, and I have ADHD too.

I was diagnosed with ADHD at 45, and I feed my husband and our two boys every night, same as a lot of you. Everything inside WTF's for Dinner comes from my own kitchen, and even more from what my clients have taught me over the years: the patterns I see again and again, and the moments where something finally clicks and life gets a little lighter.

In December I'm speaking at the ADHD2026 International Conference in Baltimore on redesigning food systems for low-capacity days, and WTF's for Dinner is that talk turned into something you can use in your own kitchen.

Introducing WTF's for Dinner

So we answer dinner's questions earlier.

WTF's for Dinner moves every one of those questions out of your evening. We decide dinner at a time of day when deciding is easy, we stock the house so the answer is already sitting there, and we get food into you earlier so your blood glucose isn't at its lowest when dinner starts.

3ingredients or fewer2steps or fewer10minutes of actual effort

Every dinner inside WTF's fits those three numbers. We are not becoming the kind of person who joyfully roasts vegetables for three hours.

The WTF's for Dinner method

Three phases, and dinner gets easier in week 1.

The three phases build the system, and the Three Door System is how we use it on any given night.

01

Stop the food crash cycle

Why food gets harder for ADHD brains as the day goes on, and how eating earlier keeps blood glucose steadier going into dinner, so the late-afternoon crash is smaller.

Inside this phase

PFF (protein, fat and fibre), the ADHD Meal Matrix™, Protein as an Anchor, Food Rhythms, Not Plans

02

Remove the dinner decisions

Your repeat dinners, your Always-Have List, a standing grocery order and a fridge set up so the answer is visible when you open the door, so dinner starts from something already decided and never from zero.

Inside this phase

Your Always-Have List, the 21 Meal Library, the Default Cart Engine, Cook Once and Multiply

03

Build your default food system

Set up the kitchen so what you need is where you cook, cut the cleanup instead of the meal, and move dinner out of your head for good.

Inside this phase

Stop the Kitchen Scavenger Hunt, Cleanup Compression, WTF → WTD

Every night, across all three phases

The Three Door System

Door One: Relief  ·  Door Two: Steady  ·  Door Three: Build

Your AI dinner picker works from whichever door you're on.

The Three Door System

Some nights we've got more left than others, so dinner has three doors.

This is the tool I use with my own clients every day. Whichever door matches tonight is the right one, and in your session with me we shape each door around your house.

Door One

Relief

For the nights your tolerance for noise and mess and people needing things from you has run out. The only job is protein, fat and fibre.

A snack plate with chicken, crackers, hummus and veggies. Frozen dumplings with edamame. A tuna wrap with baby carrots.

Door Two

Steady

For the nights you can manage a few steps, just not inventing dinner from scratch.

Rotisserie chicken with bagged salad. Pasta with jarred sauce and frozen meatballs. Quesadillas with black beans and cheese.

Door Three

Build

For the nights you have some energy left. You spend it making the next hard night easier: pick two dinners to repeat, or stock your Door One foods.

You can drop a door any night without starting anything over. Door One counts.

“It actually feels so much easier to eat the way I want to now. ‘PFF is your BFF’ forever!”

Christina, Toronto

PFF is protein, fat and fibre, the three things every WTF's dinner is built on.

What dinner looks like once WTF's is working

A battery at 4 percent, with the note: our battery by dinner time

Right now

×You open the fridge and still don't know what to make

×Groceries go in the garbage because nobody remembered they were there

×One bad week and you're back to feeling like you have to start over

Three dinner trays with chicken, rice and vegetables, from the WTF's for Dinner lessons

After WTF's

✓You know your go-to dinners without having to think of them

✓The groceries you buy turn into dinners, and the fridge does the remembering

✓When a week goes sideways, you pick up the next lesson and carry on

Homes with sensory preferences or selective eaters

It's not for you if you want:

×A strict meal plan or calorie tracking×A weight-loss program×Someone to tell you which foods are good and which are bad×A plan that assumes you'll always have time, energy and focus to spare

Meal plans ask you to predict on Sunday what a tired version of you will want to cook on Thursday.

WTF's builds dinner around the tired version instead.

What's included inside WTF's for Dinner

Six things you get (& one of them is an hour with me)

1

Make It Work For Your Life: a 60-minute one-on-one session with me

Live on video, just you and me. We look at your actual routines, your kitchen, how your energy runs across the day, and what you and your family will actually eat, and we fit WTF's to your house. You book it whenever you're ready, and the booking link is pinned in WhatsApp and in your portal.

If this exact version doesn't work for you, that doesn't mean you're doing it wrong. It means we haven't designed your version yet. That's what this hour is for.

2

22 lessons, delivered to WhatsApp twice a week

Short podcast-style videos, sent as the video, as audio on its own for the car or the laundry, and as a written version. Every lesson stays in the chat, so there's nothing to catch up on. Prefer a login? Everything is also in your online portal the minute you buy.

A live video call with Amy, cameras off for everyone else

3

A 30-minute live video Q&A every second week

Same day and same time every second week, so there's no schedule to check. Can't make it? Post your question in the Questions group, and I answer that week's questions in one voice note. The Q&A stays open to you for as long as WTF's runs, not just your 11 weeks.

The ADHD Meal Matrix™

Builds a meal from four slots, protein, fat, fibre and hydration, so dinner is assembly and not invention. It's one of the first tools you learn, in Phase 1.

5

An AI dinner picker, built as a Gemini Gem

Take a photo of your fridge, pantry and counter, tell it which door you're on tonight, and it answers with one or two dinners built only from what's in the photos, inside 3 ingredients, 2 steps and 10 minutes. It lists the foods it used at the top, so you can correct a wrong guess in one reply.

6

An optional chat group

For members who want to talk to each other, so the lesson group only ever has lessons in it.
